The formula is a weighted average:
Overall Grade = Σ (Category Average × Category Weight)
Example:
Overall = (92×0.20) + (80×0.30) + (70×0.50)
Overall = 18.4 + 24 + 35 = 77.4%
So yes: a 70% exam average can bulldoze your 92% homework average. Welcome to weighted grading.
